A Place for People

We're a place to get delicious, homegrown food, but that's not all! OXCM believes that everyone deserves access to fresh, healthy food. We're building a local food community that works for everyone, where friends gather, families learn, kids play and life is good!

Oh, SNAP!

Through a partnership with Baptist Hospital, Move on Up Mississippi, and United Way, OXCM provides a dollar-for-dollar match, up to $20, to customers using SNAP benefits at the market to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables.

It's easy to DOUBLE your SNAP dollars at OXCM!

WIC/Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Voucher Program

We are Lafayette County's only redemption site for WIC/Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program Vouchers. These vouchers may be used only for the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables. WIC is a supplemental nutrition program for women, infants, and children. The program is administered through the Mississippi Dept. of Ag and Commerce.

MArket Fresh Gift Card Program

OXCM distributes bundles of Market Fresh Gift Cards to organizations in the LOU community that work closely with individuals and families that are vulnerable or have low incomes. Our partner organizations then distribute the gift cards to their clients in $30 increments. This program targets folks in our community who may not qualify for SNAP/EBT but still deserve access to fresh, local food!

Thanks to our partners Baptist Hospital, Move on Up Mississippi, United Way, and Oxford-University United Methodist Church for helping fund this program!

OXCM Cares - Market Fresh Food Drive

One of our most successful programs! A weekly fresh food drive that invites OXCM customers to donate local food from OXCM vendors. We deliver the fresh food donations to the local food pantry, The Pantry, every Wednesday morning and to the senior citizens at Canterbury Crest every Wednesday evening. To get involved, sign up on our Volunteer Form or keep up with opportunities on OXCM GroupMe!

Neighborhood Resilience garden projects

OXCM has taken the next step in fighting food insecurity by creating additional ways to assist community members, working with the Oxford Garden Club, NextGear Cares, student volunteers and community members. Our first community garden project broke ground in September 2020, when 3 raised beds were built and planted at C.B. Webb townhomes, a low-income housing complex. With all supplies provided, these community gardens exist to facilitate community building, gardening education, and personal empowerment and agency to grow ones own food! We have a long-term vision to grow this project in unison with our other programs to increase access to fresh, healthy, local foods. Up next: We are working with community partner LOU Home to build a new garden at Belle Rivers!

Food Rescue Project

Working in partnership with UM students and Greek organizations to send high-quality leftover food to our friends and neighbors in need!
